HUGH E. DONOVAN, ESQUIRE

Hugh E. Donovan was born in Dover, New Hampshire, February 15, 1935;
Education; University of New Hampshire, (B.A., 1957); American University, (J.D.,
1970). Member: Montgomery County, Maryland State Bar Association; District of
Columbia Bar. Former Master of the Bench, American Inns of Court Foundation, J. Dudley Diggs Inn.

He was previously a five year member of the Review Panel of the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland.

He is admitted to practice before: Maryland Court of Appeals, United States District Court for Maryland, United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, United States Court of Appeals, D.C. Circuit.

After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1957, Mr. Donovan was employed as a claims representative, claims supervisor, and claims manager by two major insurance companies, while simultaneously attending law school at American University. Mr. Donovan obtained his J.D. degree and was admitted to the bar in 1970.

In over thirty years of practice, he has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in over four hundred personal injury trials in Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has also appeared as appellate counsel in approximately seventy- five cases before the Courts of Appeal of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

He was appointed by Judge William Missouri as an approved arbitrator in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County and appointed by Administrative Judge Paul Weinstein as an approved Facilitator in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County.
