| STEPHEN H. RATLIFF, ESQUIRE Stephen H. Ratliff is a sole practitioner with over twenty (20) years of civil litigation experience. He is admitted to the bars of Virginia (1984), the District of Columbia (1985) and Maryland (1996) as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia. Mr. Ratliff is an experienced practitioner, mediator, case evaluator and arbitrator in many areas of the law including business, commercial, personal injury, medical malpractice, dental malpractice, insurance and sports law. He has served as a mediator, case evaluator and arbitrator for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for over fourteen (14) years. He is also active in a number of organizations
and activities including the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary System (Standing
Committee on Lawyer Discipline, 2006 – present; Fifth District Committee,
Chair 2003-2004); former Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee
of the District of Columbia Bar’s Litigation Section; Fairfax Bar
Association (Circuit Court Committee, General District Court Committee,
Judicial Screening Committee), as well as Master, George Mason American
Inn of Court. He also teaches and lectures on trial advocacy and ethics
and is a faculty member of the Georgetown University Law Center/National
Institute for Trial Advocacy Intensive Session in Trial Advocacy Skills.
He has been an NCAA College Football Official for over ten (10) years.
